Hello!
I'm planning to bring my mother (and husband) to Oxford for Christmas this year.
It's been a while since I've been familiar with Oxford, (went to uni there in 2010) and I usually just walked or took the bus everywhere. I was younger then and thought nothing of walking for miles and miles to save money!
My mom has some mobility issues and has difficulties walking long distances. We have a place booked in the Jericho area and plan to take the bus as much as possible. But she tires easily and I'm anticipating we may have to take a taxi occasionally. I never took a taxi when I lived in Oxford. I've been doing some research and it seems Uber or other rideshare apps aren't operating in Oxford. I see that Royal Cars or 001 are taxi services? Are they easy to book? outrageously expensive?
But I guess most importantly, does anyone know if the bus or taxis be running on Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day & Boxing day? My mom wants to attend church in the city center on Christmas, so we're hoping we can at least get a taxi there. Any advice?
Thank you!!!
