There is an Episode of the Love Boat, and one of the plot lines was, "Your Money Or Your Wife". A few different twists and turns, and typical Aaron Spelling Love Boat schlock but the plot is essentially a husband being offered forgiveness of a $20,000 debt if he agrees to have his wife go on a 'date' with the man offering it. (There is even a casino scene).
Seems a pretty blatant redo/rip-off. There may be other instances as well of the same plot, but this one seems pretty relevant.
