Fuck yeah, I’m hoping it’s a single!
no fr. everybody wants the other songs to be singles when this song is literally right here: it’s catchy, relatable, intoxicating, etc.
The reason you think that it's because it's the 3rd song in the album. We know the intro is just not a full song and then we have “bye”, which is just a danceable disco bop with not much to say about the concept. So then she tackles all the deep issues in “don't wanna break up again”, that's how she intended the album to be. So the next song that really does that and goes more profound is the title track “eternal sunshine”. That one is the best song, it's the single that has to represent the feeling of the album.
If it were up to me, dwbua would be a single and “true story” would also be the next single after it, I'm a stan of that song. And “yes, and?” wouldn't have been a single for me. But people have other tastes 1st. we can't be friends (wait for your love) 2nd. eternal sunshine 3rd. the boy is mine 4th. don't wanna break up again 5th. true story 6th. bye In any case, the last surprise single would be the extended version of intro (end of the world), as a bonus for the fans for being so supportive haha.
100% agree. I could not stop playing it this week, so catchy and dreamy. That octave (or so) leap from 🎵" big day in the morning" 🎵 is also insane. And the to-oo-oo much for you 😩!! Love Ari man.
I'm annoyed that ES isn't performing like Positions on the charts. With Positions, a lot of songs were just charting for no reason, but ES mainly has the singles charting, as far as I know.
ES is performing better World wide, Positions performed better in the US despite the inferior debut. But overall ES is clearly more successful, the spotify numbers are vastly superiors, especially thanks to Asia that is consuming this album crazily, like the Intro is doing so well thanks to Indonesia, philippine, etc. They have taste.

And OP, "you turn up the TV, you don't wanna hear me, one more sleepless night" - like this line makes me so sad but it's so real. Like I can see this storyline in my head. I think we deserve a MV! like there should be a 70s themed front room, with the old style TV which gets turned up and then a transition to a dressing room where Ari journals and gets ready (to self-soothe) and then a TikTok dance vibe for the chorus.
