No Daily Mass on Tuesday, May 14
Due to clergy study week, there will be no 8:30 AM daily Mass on Tuesday, May 14. There will be a Communion Service instead at 8:30 AM. Thank you.
Happy and Holy Ascension Sunday and the celebration of Mother’s Day! The Ascension of Our Lord, 40 days after Easter, would normally be on a weekday (May 9th this year) but is now commonly celebrated on 7th Sunday of Easter: today.
As we hear in Mark’s Gospel today, Jesus’ last command to each of us, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.” (Mk 16:15)
And on this Mother’s Day we honor those women who have in this very special and intimate way brought this good news into their family, neighborhood and community in the blessing of motherhood...
¡Feliz y Santo Domingo de la Ascensión y celebración del Día de la Madre! La Ascensión de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, 40 días después de Pascua, normalmente sería un día laborable (el 9 de mayo de este año), pero ahora se celebra comúnmente el séptimo domingo de Pascua: hoy.
Como escuchamos hoy en el Evangelio de Marcos, el último mandamiento de Jesús a cada uno de nosotros: "Id por todo el mundo y proclamad el evangelio a toda criatura". (Marcos 16:15)

As we celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, there will be a special blessing at the end of all Masses this weekend for those we call Mother in our lives – Mothers, Grandmothers, Step-Mothers, Foster-Mothers, Godmothers, etc.

- What is the Luck of St. Lawrence Lottery?Both Saint Lawrence the Martyr Parish and Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School organize the Luck of St. Lawrence Lottery. Raffle tickets are sold at $10 a ticket or $150 for a booklet of 15 tickets.
- How do I buy tickets? Raffle tickets are sold at $10.00 a ticket or $150.00 for a booklet of 15 tickets. Tickets are available at the parish and school offices. Sold ticket stubs need to be returned complete with the purchaser’s name, address, telephone number, email address, student’s name and grade (school only), with payment, preferably check. Keep the tickets so you know your number(s).
- Who can buy raffle tickets? Anyone! You can purchase raffle tickets for your own use, or sell to neighbors, friends, family, etc. The more raffle tickets purchased, the greater your chance of winning one or more of the drawings.
- How will winners be notified? Winners will be notified by email or phone. Names will be published in the parish bulletin and the school newsletter.
- What happens to my ticket if I am the winner that month? Your ticket is re-entered into the raffle again for the next drawing. You have the chance to win multiple times from September 3, 2023 through June 7, 2024.
