Alia Bhatt has been getting a lot of international exposure, especially in Hollywood, for quite some time now. The actor first received the spotlight by starring in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, which ended up getting rave international reviews.

She later starred in RRR, albeit in a minor role, but the movie became a breakout international hit. Then, in 2023, she starred in Netflix’s Heart of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, receiving even more international attention.

And, to top it off, she recently appeared at The Met Gala 2024, where her Sabyasachi saree look turned heads all around and emerged as one of the most stunning outfits on the prestigious red carpet.

But Alia isn’t the first Bollywood actor to make an impact globally. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra are some of the biggest names to shine internationally, with the latter achieving great success in the West.

Speaking about the same, Alia Bhatt opened up about her Bollywood career trajectory and the personalities of the Hindi Film Industry that have influenced her the most.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Alia Bhatt said, “I feel inspired by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who chartered her own course and took her journey global when no one was even thinking about it. And, of course, Kareena Kapoor Khan who is iconic in every way, and Shreya Ghoshal whose voice just elevates every word and rhythm given to her. These women embrace their journeys with such élan and ease—that authenticity is what I aim to bring to my roles.”

So Alia Bhatt named Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, and Shreya Ghosal as the women in Bollywood who inspire her the most.

Alia also talked about her goals in 2024, and said, “In 2024, I see myself continuing to push into new creative territories, aiming to engage with the audience on deeper levels. The goal has always been to challenge myself, to not be comfortable where I am, to dig deep within myself, to be able to contribute more to my characters. The legacy I hope to build is one of meaningful, memorable roles which not only entertain but also provoke thought and inspire change.”

On the professional front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in the movie Jigra, which has been directed by Vasan Bala (Monica O My Darling and Ray). Alia Bhatt is also a co-producer of the movie along with Karan Johar.
