Memphis Grizzlies provide update on Ja Morant's injury status. And it's good news.

The Memphis Grizzlies can only watch the NBA playoffs now after their season came to an unexpected halt after 82 games due to injuries.

However, there was good news Tuesday from coach Taylor Jenkins. He provided an update on how players were recovering from injuries, including two-time all-star Ja Morant.

"Everything is going well," Jenkins told media members at a team event at Fox Meadows Elementary School. "Ja is the only one when June rolls around, he's going to be pretty close to full go on the court. Everything that everyone was dealing with towards the end of the season is in a good place right now."

General manager Zach Kleiman said in April that their wasn't a timeline on Morant's full availability, but the Grizzlies were hopeful the star point guard could be back by the middle of the summer.

Morant needed surgery in January after a labral tear in his right shoulder. The recovery process was outlined as a six-month process, and Morant seems well on his way to being healthy.

Morant, who missed the first 25 games of the season due to an NBA suspension, played in nine games and led the Grizzlies to a 6-3 record when he was active.

AWARD UPDATE: Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. misses out on third consecutive NBA all-defensive team honor

Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., Ziaire Williams, Vince Williams and Marcus Smart were among the Grizzlies players dealing with injuries that extended through the end of the season.
