HEC Tops 2024 FT Executive Education Open Ranking

HEC Paris moved up one place from its 2023 position in the Open-enrollment program to top the 2024 table published by the Financial Times today. Graduates from this Executive Education program were particularly praiseworthy in the “Aims achieved” and “New skills and learning” categories where the school ranked number one.

“As competition in this sector continues to grow, this is an excellent result. Our Open programs have outstanding satisfaction notes in the eight most crucial categories of the ranking, with top three positions in all eight.” The HEC director of Data Accreditations & Rankings, Omar El Arfaoui, did not hide his satisfaction at seeing the classification for HEC’s Open-enrollment programs leapfrog one place to rank as the world’s top university in this very competitive field. “On top of consolidating our quality in terms of course design, teaching methods, follow-up, faculty, and preparation, we see notable improvements in our internationalization and academic partnerships. This is something we aim to consolidate in the coming year, thanks to the devotion of our staff and academics.”

The dean of Executive Education, Anne-Valérie Corboz, was also delighted at the ranking and the consistency HEC has been showing: "We are in equal measure proud and humbled to remain at the top of the FT ranking for a third consecutive year. This speaks to the dedication of our teams and our unwavering commitment to customer excellence. The transformation we have been leading and the future strategy of the school are in part reflected in these excellent results.”

On top of first place for its Open-enrollment programs, HEC maintains its competitivity in the Custom programs. Its Top 5 position is largely thanks to outstanding notes for its faculty, its teaching methods and the new skills the professors impart. Combined, these two rankings consolidate the position HEC holds in executive education which has grown over the last three years. However, and for the first time ever, the FT daily has decided to forego its combined table of Custom and Open courses, explaining that the “combined ranking is mixing two sets of very different courses, therefore it does not make sense to have such a table.” Last year, HEC Paris ranked number one in this combined category.

This year, the two other executive education FT rankings feature the world’s top 90 business schools, internationally accredited by either AACSB or Equis. The customized table focuses on programs tailored to the needs of organizations, which consult with business schools to address strategic imperatives. Meanwhile, the Open-enrolment table puts an emphasis on programs open to participants from different organizations and at different stages in their careers, around topics ranging from cryptocurrency to entrepreneurial mindset.
