LEGO Jurassic World summer 2024 sets officially revealed

LEGO Jurassic World summer 2024 sets officially revealed

The LEGO Group has revealed three new LEGO Jurassic World sets launching this summer, and there are two brand new dinosaurs among them.

While the Jurassic franchise is currently between movies – 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion and 2025’s sequel from director Gareth Edwards – the LEGO Group is still finding ways to keep the theme running, a phrase which here means ‘cooking up new dinosaur moulds’. Case in point: a Stegosaurus and Allosaurus are both making their debuts in the LEGO Jurassic World theme this summer.

Those will be the highlights for most people between these three sets, but there’s also a rare sub-£20 offering for those who just want a taste of the dino-action without paying the moulded dino tax. Check out all the details and images on the three sets below. These will launch in June in the UK and Europe, but you’ll have to wait until August to pick them up in North America.

76962 Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus

Price: £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 Pieces: 358 Release date: June 1, 2024

If you prefer your LEGO dinosaurs built from traditional bricks rather than single-purpose elements, 76962 Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus is the set for you. Coming in at a pocket money price, the 358-piece model is available to pre-order now, and recreates a colourful Ankylosaurus as seen in the Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous animated series.

76965 Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery

Price: £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99 Pieces: 420 Release date: June 1, 2024

The first of two ‘Dinosaur Missions’ sets arriving this summer, 76965 Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery includes the long-overdue addition of a Stegosaurus to the LEGO Jurassic World ranks. That will be the main draw for most people, but the set also packs in a fair amount of stuff for its price tag too, including a van with a fully-equipped interior, a tree with a detachable campfire and nest, a trailer with a mobile lab and Ben and Sammy minifigures from Camp Cretaceous.

76966 Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck

Price: £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99 Pieces: 588 Release date: June 1, 2024

The largest set of the new wave is also based on Camp Cretaceous, and includes the first-ever Allosaurus under the LEGO Jurassic World banner. The fearsome dino matches the form factor of its compatriots and should look formidable displayed alongside a T. rex. The rest of 76966 Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck’s piece count is devoted to a truck, trailer, quad bike, drone and minifigures of Darius, yaz, Kenji and a truck driver.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
