Who do you think was the best Showrunner(s)?

OC
  • Season 1–2: Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, & Sam Simon.

  • Season 3–4: Al Jean & Mike Reiss.

  • Season 5–6: David Mirkin.

  • Season 7–8: Bill Oakley & Josh Weinstein.

  • Season 9–12: Mike Scully.

  • Season 13–31: Al Jean.

  • Season 32–present: Al Jean & Matt Selman.

Of those listed who do you think was the best at running the Simpsons? I'd say it's probably a tie between Mirkin and Oakley/Weinstein.

I think Bill Oakley & Josh Weinstein for me. Bill Oakley seems like a really cool guy

Well now I have a name to blame for the abomination of an episode that aired last night.

I'd call it a wet fart but even those can have some level of joy to them.

Edited

Mirkin.

Seasons 5 and 6 contain my favorite episodes ever.

Hey egghead! Sing “Fair Harvard!”

David Mirkin still works for the show. He even wrote the recent Disney+ short.

Edited

Yeah he left and came back like Al Jean.

Jean and Reiss. Season 3 is when the show really took off IMO

Oakley and Weinstein without question. Mirkin is the only one who is even close.

Oakley & Weinstein also produced one of my favorite shows growing up in Mission Hill, so I do have a soft spot for them. Doesn't hurt that season 7 is 90% banger episodes.

Oakley/ Weinstein

Shout out to Matt Selman though for putting some heart back into the show
