Hundreds enjoy Bury St Edmunds West and Loud charity car show at West Suffolk College

Hundreds of people enjoyed the successful return of a family car event in a Suffolk town which raised money for charity.

West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds hosted the West and Loud Car and Motorcycle Show on Saturday with about 150 cars on display.

All the profits from the event will go towards the two charities, Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) and Driven Minds, with both set to receive a ‘substantial’ amount each.

Alan Barrett, one of the organisers, said: “It was four hours of fun for petrolheads who were able to have a look at a massively varied selection of vehicles.

“We had everything from electric, classics, modern retros, a racing car and lots of American vehicles, so it was a great day out.

“I think it’s important that the college gets involved in community events like this and it was nice to see automotive and motorsports students playing a really active role supporting staff at the event.

“Thank you to all who supported us and we look forward to welcoming people back again to next year’s event.

The car show follows last year’s event which saw over 1000 guests attend and had more than 300 cars on display.
