Abstract: In this video we analyse two poems by Friedrich Nietzsche and Rainer Maria Rilke on Roman fountains. Both authors share a connection through the free thinker and feminist Lou Andreas-Salomé. Not only is there a real life connection, their thinking also shows resemblance. Both authors use their language to show the deeper layers of life. Charles Taylor, contemporary Canadian philosopher, has used the term "a subtler langauge" to highlight the romantic tendency to re-enchant the world and connect human beings with the outer world. Throughout this video we try and show how the language of both Nietzsche and Rilke is an attempt at a re-echantment of the world.
