Attractions in Bayeux?

Hello,

We are going to stay in Bayeux for two nights, so we will have one afternoon and one full day there.

I was thinking of driving to Eretrat but it is a two-hour drive one-way, I am not sure I want to drive that long...

Are there any other attractions we can see in and around the city (becides the tapestry museum) ?

People go to Bayeux usually as a gateway to WW2 beaches and memorials, is that of interest to you? If you are more into scenery and nice villaged I advise a drive along the Cotentin peninsula coast, it's beautiful and nor very well known. I can get into more details if you want. And/or there is the "cité de la mer" museum compound in Cherbourg. Please let us know more about your interests.
