The 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) has found its first finalist after Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday. The other two teams to qualify for the playoffs are Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They will face each other in the Eliminator.
KKR qualified for the playoffs after finishing in first place with 20 points from 14 matches, ahead of SRH in second with 17 points. RR too had 17 points but finished third on NRR, whereas RCB finished fourth with 14 points.
The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held in Ahmedabad whereas Chennai will host the Qualifier 2 and final.

Format
The teams that are placed first and second in the IPL 2024 points table (KKR and SRH) will take on each other in Qualifier 1. The winner of that match receives direct qualification for the final, whereas the loser gets another shot at reaching the title clash.
The loser of Qualifier 1 will play the winner of Eliminator (RCB and RR) in Qualifier 2. The winner of Eliminator advances to Qualifier 2, whereas the loser of that game gets eliminated completely. The winner of Qualifier 2 then progresses to final, where they will lock horns against the winner of Qualifier 1.
