SARATOGA SPRINGS - Author Mark Harris whose latest book is "Mike Nichols: A Life," will speak with film historian and WAMC commentator Audrey Kupferberg in a virtual conversation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22 on Zoom.

The free public event, hosted by the Saratoga Book Festival, Saratoga Springs Public Library and Home Made Theater, will focus on the life of late film and stage director Nichols as told by Harris. As part of his research, Harris conducted more than 250 interviews with such notables artists such as Meryl Streep, Stephen Sondheim, Robert Redford, Glenn Close, Tom Hanks, Candice Bergen, Emma Thompson, Annette Bening, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, Lorne Michaels and Gloria Steinem.

Harris is also the author of "Five Came Back: A Story of Hollywood and the Second World War" and "Pictures at a Revolution: Five Movies and the Birth of the New Hollywood," which was named a notable book of the year by the New York Times and the American Library Association.
