SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Saratoga Performing Arts Center will continue its CulinaryArts@SPAC initiative from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, with an event celebrating the Negroni, a cocktail that in its original version is equal parts Campari, gin and red vermouth. It will be held in the Nancy DiCresce Room at The Pines@SPAC facility

The evening's special guest will be Matt Hranek, author of the new-this-summer book "The Negroni: A Love Affair with a Classic Cocktail," who, with Brendan Dillon, co-owner of Hamlet & Ghost in Saratoga Springs, will offer a flight of Negroni variations to accompany light fare by Kim Klopstock of Lily and the Rose catering in Saratoga.

Following the reception, Joe Donahue of WAMC Northeast Public Radio will lead a discussion about the history of the Negroni with Hranek and Dillon, followed by an audience Q&A and book-signing for those wishing to purchase a copy.
