UPDATE: Alcohol, speed appear to be factors in fatal crash in Taunton

UPDATE: Police say speed was involved and alcohol may have played a role in the fatal crash in Taunton.

TAUNTON, Mass. – A car crash on Bay Street in Taunton has left two teens dead and four others injured.

Police say the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at 1861 Bay Street in Taunton. It is unclear

The Taunton fire department had to use the jaws of life to remove the driver and his five passengers from a 2001 Honda Accord that crashed. The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning at 1861 Bay Street in Taunton.

Police say the driver and three passengers were taken to Rhode Island Hospital's trauma unit. Police have no word on the extent of their injuries. Ashley Rivera, 18, Jose Rodriguez, 21, Nicholas Costa, 24, and Chelsea Crancha, 19, were injured in the accident.

Police say two passengers were taken to Morton Hospital where they were pronounced dead. Eden Macedo, 18, and Jason Neto, 19, both of Taunton, were killed in the crash.
