A memorial service was held at the Our Lady of the Airways Chapel at Logan Airport Sunday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Delta Flight 723, which crashed near a Logan runway on July 31, 1973.

The flight originated in Burlington, Vermont and picked up passengers in Manchester, New Hampshire before crashing at Logan airport.

Family and friends were on hand Sunday to pay respect to the 89 passengers that died as a result of the crash.
