Two teens suspected of going on an armed crime spree in Greeley late-Sunday night face multiple felony charges after a failed attempt to elude police.
At 11:51 p.m. Sunday Weld County dispatch received a call of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven store in the 2500 block of 11th Avenue, police said in a news release. The robbers, who fled, pointed a gun at a cashier.
A short-time later, police received a call about another armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in the 1400 block of 9th Street, the release said. The vehicle in the later robbery matched the description of the vehicle in the earlier armed robbery.
Officers spotted the vehicle as it was leaving the second store and attempted to stop the driver, the release said. The driver fled and officers pursued the vehicle, which crashed into a Ford Explorer and two men ran from the scene.
Anthonie Castle, 19, was caught quickly in a foot chase, police said. Noah Cook, 18, was later caught with the help of a police dog.
Investigators also suspect the pair of an earlier smash-and-grab robbery in the 1100 of 16th Street, where lottery tickets were stolen from a gas station, and another robbery in the 100 block of 22nd Street, at Sherry’s Market.
The two are suspected of robbing cash and more than $1400 in merchandise. They are being held at the Weld County Jail for investigation of multiple felonies including aggravated robbery, theft, eluding police, and obstruction of a police officer.
