Steven Tyler and Aimee Preston were first rumored to be an item back in May 2014, with a source close to Preston confirming their romance to Daily Mail. According to the insider, Preston is a personal assistant of Tyler, and she'd been working for the Aerosmith singer for sometime when their relationship turned into something romantic. "They're not exactly dating but it's not a strictly professional relationship either," the source told outlet at the time. "It's in the early stages. She has been working with him for a few years now." They added, "But they're certainly having fun together. She is his personal assistant so she's been following him everywhere."
Years before dating Tyler, Preston was reportedly married to a talent agent named Scott Schachter. She also served as a personal assistant to Donald Trump at The Trump Organization from 2007 to 2011, has worked for Trump's ex-wife Marla Maples and fashion icon Victoria Beckham as well. Despite Steven Tyler's history of dating much younger women, his relationship with Aimee Preston still managed to raise more than a few eyebrows. As fans may recall, Tyler's ex-fiancé Erin Brady was 25 years his junior, while Julie Holcomb — a woman who claims to have an illicit relationship with Tyler back in the '70s — was reportedly 16 years old when he started dating her.
When he and Preston debuted their romance in 2016, many were initially doubtful and unsupportive of their coupling. "Imagine having a daughter going through puberty and your future side piece is being born. Man is well old enough to be her father, and thanks to drugs he looks like her grandfather," one fan wrote on Twitter. Others even suggested that she's only in it for the fame and money. "Now would she really date a 71 year old man if he wasn't the Steven Tyler?" another fan tweeted of Preston.
