It pops up a new tab for me with an ad, every site has been doing this lately for me now.. so annoying. I dunno if its my adblock or just the sites altogether deciding to be shitty. Pain in the ass. Literally every time I pause the video or click anything.
It happened to me as well. Just switched from AdBlock to UBlock Origin. Problem solved.

100%, I am using it for a year, the VPN will only hide your IP which I think it's legal to watch stream from everywhere. The site doesn't download anything, only streams the movies.
This one works, you just have to battle through ads and pop-ups (even with AdGuard) a small handful of times before the movie or show will play. It’s the only one on this list with an older show from animal planet 🤣🤌

I know this is a very late reply but if you have Android you can download Adguard, if you have iPhone you can setup Adguard's public DNS servers and wala no more ads at all on 123movies. Ads on many other webpages will also be blocked.

Just be careful and have a good antivirus program. They have really new movies but I just tried and my anti-virus program has stopped 4 threats since opening their site. So as long as you have something to stop it.
