HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Early Thursday morning, Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a robbery in progress at a home in the 22200 block of Spring Gate Dr. The homeowners said they arrived home to find a strange vehicle in their driveway and a man stealing property from their garage.
The homeowners called 911, and then confronted the suspect, who turned out to be armed. The suspect allegedly held the victims at gunpoint, as he pleaded with them not to call the police. They say he even promised to return their property he stole earlier, if they wouldn’t involve law enforcement. The suspect had no way of knowing the call was already placed. Pct. 4 Deputies soon arrived and arrested Omar Velez.
“Omar Velez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Aggravated Robbery. His bond and court information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
