Prince William and Kate Middleton just celebrated their youngest son Prince Louis’ fifth birthday over the weekend. But while royal watchers have wondered whether there could eventually be a fourth royal baby, the Princess of Wales made a subtle comment yesterday that suggested her and William’s family is complete.

Express reported that while Kate was at Baby Bank folding clothes, she and Baby Bank CEO Rebecca Mistry had a revealing exchange when looking at infant clothing. Mistry spoke about how people can sometimes get a little baby fever when looking at the tiny outfits, “Whereas I look at them and think I don’t want to go through that again.”

Kate appeared to agree with the sentiment, saying with a laugh, “I’ve been there and done that.”

Kate’s husband William has made his own view on the couple’s family size known publicly, too. Last January, when Kate was holding a baby during a joint event with him at Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire, England, William teased to staff members nearby, “Don’t give my wife any more ideas!”

He also joked to Kate, when she returned the baby girl she was holding to the child’s parents, “Don’t take her with you.”

Kate herself publicly acknowledged William’s disinterest in a fourth child, telling a royal fan during a January 2020 engagement in Yorkshire, England, “I don’t think William wants any more.”

Us Weekly claimed in October 2022 that, behind the scenes, Kate has been trying to convince William to expand their family one last time. “Kate has been talking about wanting another baby for a while now,” a source told the outlet. “She has always wanted four children, and while William was originally happy with three, she has managed to twist his arm.”
