Tuesday, Feb. 27: Historical Tributes and Extreme Elegance.

Day two saw the debut of Christian Dior’s fall/winter collection, a tribute to the brand’s history and female independence. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri reinterpreted some of the maison’s iconic codes, such as the Bar suit, the houndstooth motif, and the “Miss Dior” inscriptions, brushed on the dresses like a manifesto of emancipation. The loose, flowing silhouettes allowed women to freely express their individuality without sacrificing sophistication and elegance. The evening was dominated by the sensuality and extreme elegance of Saint Laurent, with a collection that celebrated the femme fatale and her power of seduction. Creative director Anthony Vaccarello paid homage to the iconic 1968 dress, which had scandalized the public with its plunging neckline and feathers, by reintroducing it in transparent and shimmering versions that enhanced the beauty of the female body. The collection showed how the fashion house continues to break the mold with boldness and sophistication, also offering short and tight-fitting dresses, flared pants and leather jackets.

Wednesday, Feb. 28: Retromania and Secrecy by The Row.

Day three brought a throwback to the 1960s with Courreges, which dared to explore the female sexual sphere through lingerie dresses and intimate details. Alessandro Vigilante’s debut for Rochas brought the 1930s back into the limelight, while the secrecy of The Row, a fashion house founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen added a touch of mystery and exclusivity to Paris Fashion Week. Since they specifically requested not to film or photograph the proposed outfits, so no spoilers about it the only lucky ones to know what the maison will have in store for us are the guests. It heightens curiosity. Casablanca, on the other hand, evoked the allure of ancient Greece. Balmain, on the other hand, paid homage to its city of origin, Bordeaux, by introducing grape motifs typical of the area into the collection.
