More than 100 fun-loving locals and visitors enjoyed the grand opening of Lost Hiker Brewing Company's new home in Alto over the weekend.

Lost Hiker Brewery opened the Enchanted Vine March 3, in Alto.
Jennifer Carey is cofounder with husband, Dan Carey.

The massive barn-style event venue named "Enchanted Vine," presented live musicians, artists, crafts creators, wine selections from neighboring Noisy Water Winery and plenty of craft-brewed Lost Hiker beers.

Outside, event-goers socialized and played horseshoes under the pines.

Brewers Jennifer and Dan Carey also have established a craft brewery and tasting room in Ruidoso Downs that is open on weekends at 26394 U.S. 70 East in Unit #6.

Their enterprise is part of collaborative microbrewery movement, according to company information. Dan had been home brewing for more than 20 years before going commercial and moving to the mountains from Austin, Texas.

Artisans and others filled the massive interior hall of the brewery.
Visitors came in all ages.
Visitors anticipate a purchase at one vendor's area.

The tasting room is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays. Lost Hiker also distributes to Hidden Tap, Sacred Grounds, Casa Blanca, and Anaheim Jacks in Ruidoso.

The new Enchanted Pines is at 104 Alto Pines Trail.
