FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL. (KTVI) – Black Friday shoppers could be bundled up this year.  A cold snap arrived in St. Louis just as stores prepared for their Thanksgiving bargains.

One shopper outside the Best Buy store in Fairview Heights said the cold weather would not stop him from camping out for a bargain.

“No, you can get some good deals if you’re willing to wait out on the cold,” he said.

Best Buy will join a retail trend and open its doors earlier this year.  Stores will open at 6pm.  There will be another round of bargains at midnight, but those deals won’t be made public until 10pm.

The advertised door busters include a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone for $1, a 55 inch television for $499, a Surface Tablet for $199 and a $100 discount on Kindle Fires.

The manager of the Fairview Heights Johnny Mac’s says the colder weather could be good for his business.  He has plenty of hats, gloves and winter gear with Blues, Cardinals and Rams logos.  The store even has sleds for sale.

He said Johnny Mac’s will be discounting clearance items this weekend. David Freese shirts are among the items being discounted.  The former Cardinals third basement was recently traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
