The restaurant is attache dads to a gas station but has ample seating. We were warned when we arrived that a large group had come in and that it would be a while. The wait wasn't too long and the root beer freezes were good.

Don't bother! Microwave hot dogs and I think the chili on the chili dog was Hormel out of the can. Fries were good and the service was fine.
I loved the root beer floats that they had, and I thought it was really cool how you could get refills of the root beer and make it yourself. The cashier was somewhat rude though, which knocked down my rating to average. The root beer...floats were super cheap and a great deal if you are just wanting a quick and yummy drink.More
It has been many years since I went to a A & W so when I saw this one I was happy to stop but it was quite disappointing. To start when I walked up to the counter not one but two employees looked at...me and just walked away. When my order was finally taken the counter clerk seemed angry and sullen about it. The ladies room was disgusting, with used toilet paper on the floor, considerable buildup up of grime on the toilets and sink as well as a foul smell. I was charged 0.50 extra just because I paid by card. There was a sign on the soda machine indicating there were charges for ice! While the root beer floats were as good as I remember this location is a poor example of the chain.More
So glad we stopped despite some of the bad reviews. We had a chili cheese dog with fries and a Double Papa burger with onion rings. Both of us had root beer (why would you NOT at A&W?!!). Food was good - what you’d expect....Root beer was great and she told us they made it weekly. Service was a little slow but we talked to fellow travelers. Friendly service.More
I have seen it with my own eyes. This place is run by Native Americans and Native American customer get good treatment. I don't happen to be Native, so I got treated like crap. I placed my order and waited. A Native came in and...ordered after me. She got served before me. My order wasn't even started until after this other customer came and went. It is very obvious that race plays a big part of the way this restaurant is run. I'm Canadian, so anything that the evil white man did to the natives was not done by my relatives and I shouldn't be blamed for it.More
I am not sure if it’s because it is a small town or because of Covid or if it is just how they do business, but when we pulled up to the drive thru there was a list of everything they were out of. Everything...we wanted to order was on the list, so we left.More
Relying on good memories from my childhood of going to A & W (in other towns) was a terrible mistake. This place was slow, really slow! Only two young girls working there. I looked at the tables, counter tops, base boards and cabinets. All dirty-and...just not a little bit. My brother went to use the men's room and he didn't even want to describe it for me. The county health department should close this place!More
I'll cut to the chase. This place is a disaster. The workers behind the counter are extremely slow. Every person in front of me had at least a 15 minute wait and everybody's patience was wearing out. The workers behind the counter seemed more interested...in their personal conversations rather than serving food. What really set me off though was when I saw two of the three workers handle raw and cooked food without gloves on. The lack of cleanliness is absurd and I would advise everyone to stay away from this restaurant. If you could even call it that. If you have any respect for yourself, you won't spend your hard earned money here. I know I won't spending mine here. I don't review fast food places usually, but this place is unsafe to eat at and I feel that it is important that I inform others.More
This is the first negative review I have EVER left. But after being on I40 for many many hours, we were desperate for lunch and decided that an A&W shared with an old service station style gas station could be really good or really bad....It was the second. While I don't go to fast food places for the atmosphere, this place is tiny, dirty, and the convenience store on the inside really brings it down. There was only one employee working in the middle of the day and it took 15-20 minutes to get our food. Somehow...our food was still hot and not fresh.More
No way this deserves 4 rating. Worker sitting at gas counter as you enter just leers at you and doesn't say a word. The AW workers were both standing at the grill and after a few MINUTES, I was never acknowledged and walked out.
On our way to Petrified Forest National Park, AZ, we needed gas so we stopped at this gas station and to our surprise inside we discovered a kind of old fashion route 66 diner. Great hamburgers and incredible cheese puffs. These are unique experiences at...Holbrook, AZ. The convenience store sells for $1 each, multicolored rocks from the Petrified Forest, they are in a cardboard box. You should get them here because they are not for sale at the National Park and if you take one as a memento from your park visit, you face a fine.More
The ice cream was great; cold and refreshing. The root beer was also excellent especially in an ice cream float. Service was friendly and quick. Location was centrally located in downtown and easy to find.
Place has good fast food, amazing root beer floats. Service is okay. It sucked though that they didn't have their own credit card machine we had to take or receipt over to the fuel desk and get all paid up. Atmosphere was cool had a...bunch of old stuff.More
The burgers were great. The employees were way beyond great. The cleanliness was a bit rough though and the seating area was quite warm but it was almost 100 outside. Timing of our visit was probably to blame not the staff.
