My wife and I recently visited Bald Head Island together for the first time. I have actually been on the island a number of times for work but this was the first time for both of us for leisure.
We took the ferry over and arrived around lunch time. We rented bicycles from the Riverside Adventure Company ( to be reviewed ) and started out on our day adventure. We rode past the "Old Baldy" Lighthouse and the Chapel on our way to the far side of the island.
After lunch, a stop for Italian Ice, and a nice ride we decided to head back to the marina. We stopped at the Village Chapel and I went inside for a look. It is a really nice looking chapel inside that is meticulously maintained.
If you visit Bald Head Island a stop at the Village Chapel is a must.....

The lighthouse was closed the day we explored, BHI so was pleased to notice this lovely little chapel adjacent to the lighthouse and across from the post office. The doors were opened and there is a lovely view of the marsh beyond the altar. Donations welcomed for the continued restoration and maintenance of this lovely chapel.

This is a beautiful chapel on BHI. The interior and grounds are beautiful and great places for photos. It is worth a stop while you are on the island.

We have been staying on vacation In Southport for 11 years and just started coming to Bald Head the last 4 years once a year for the day visit. We ride the BHI ferry ($44 for 2 adults), grab a meal, at Delphina Coastal Cuisine ($30 total), rent gulf cart 2 hrs ($48), visit Old Baldy Oldest NC Light House, enjoy beautiful old Chapel, take in all the historical sites from 1776 Revolution to 1861 Civil War and WW II German U Boats. It’s an amazing adventure every time we go. Oh there is snakes, alligators and poison ivy. The 4 1/2 ft snake might be a pine snake. On the back side of the Chapel. Don’t lean on the tree for a picture.

It is a charming and peaceful place. What great architecture for an island chapel. Worth a visit if you are on the island.

Reproduction of historic chapel with visiting ministers every Sunday for Christian services. Tour the facilities while you are there. Right next door to Old Baldy

This chapel is still in use by visitors and the community. An interesting focal point located near the lighthouse, it is well landscaped and a pretty picture.

Our two daughters and their families joined us on Bald Head Island for a week to celebrate our 50th anniversary. With bikes and golf carts we traveled around the island paths and that is when we came upon the little chapel with large trees and beautiful flowers surrounding it. It has inspired my husband to do a water color painting of it which we will use as our Christmas card this year.

It is a small church with a wonderful view and plenty of natural charm. Warm and inviting - the visiting Priest was very nice.
