Keep getting letters saying I owe 635.08. Had paid this credit card off almost 10 years ago! And canceled it. Gave them the information 3 different times (after each statement ) they reply with we will check into it. Can’t log into acc. On line with the information they gave me. Hoping it’s done as have not received a statement for December. Sept. Oct. and Nov. nothing shows on my credit report as being delinquent. I’m confused, and irritated!

CONTINUOUS CALLING

I CONTINUE TO GET CALLS FROM THIS COMPANY AND THEY GO TO MY VOICE MAIL. I AM 81 YEARS OLD, NEVER BEEN TO COLLEGE, IF THAT IS WHY THEY ARE CALLING, HAVE PERFECT CREDIT. WHY THEY WOULD EVEN BOTHER TO CALL ME IS STUPID. IF THEY HAD ANY INFORMATION ON ME THEY WOULD KNOW I DON'T HAVE A STUDENT LOAN. STOP THE CALLING NOW.STOP THE CALLING NOW. STOP THE CALLING NOW. STOP THE CALLING NOW. STOP THE CALLING NOW. STOP THE CALLING NOW. "I have a message from Van Rue Credit Corporation. This is a call from a debt collector attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Please call us back at 877-719-****. Thank you."

Never had a student loan debt

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been receiving phone calls from Van Ru Credit Corp demanding that I call them (thank goodness for answering machines) in reference to a debt that has been put in for collection. I found out the name of the company via the reverse phone lookup. They have several complaints against them for harassment. Apparently they go after student loan debts of which I do not nor ever had a student loan. I am also writing to my state Attorney General to let them be aware if not already aware, of this company. The legal address for this company is in Illinois, and they are really getting my goat. They call very early in the morning and then again in the evening. They can call all they want I am not paying a thing to them.

I don’t think student loans are the only thing they collect. The collect medical and doctor bills too.

I have a medical account with them that I’m currently making payments on.

The stupid doctor submitted his own bill and the insurance didn’t cover it. Crazy part is no one informed me until these stupid ppl kept calling.

Just called me at 8:47 pm central time, requested information from me without telling me why they were calling. I do not give my information out to people who refuse to say why they are calling. I asked what the call was in regards to and lady said until I verified my information she would not tell me why she was calling.

Yeah this guy did the same thing talking about he had to verify my information. He got a good cussing.

Like who tf would trust something like that?

And then he had the nerve to get mad after I explained to him how sketchy he was acting. The convo ended with me hanging up and looking up the company.

Total scam

This company sent me a collections notice with a different last name on it. That is not my name, might wanna get your facts right before sending notices of collections for thousands of dollars. I constantly receive voicemails that just contain numbers. No name, No information at all. What are these numbers supposed to mean? I get no further information than that. I will not be paying someone elses debt. I swear, it's like pulling teeth to get these people to realize they are sending bills to the wrong people. How do companies get away with such fraud? I dont need to be harassed on a daily basis. Worse than a crazy ex, leave me alone!

Woopsie

I completely forgot to pay a school bill. Why the school didn't call and remind me, I will never know. However, I received a letter informing me of the debt. After researching my school records to make sure it wasn't a scam (I am a distrustful person) I quickly called the company to pay them. I found the person on the phone to be professional and nice. Considering the clientele, and caliber of calls a debt collector must deal with, I was surprised with just how calm, professional, and kind the customer service rep was. I did find it odd that after giving the first rep my information and agreeing to pay the bill, he then had to transfer me to another rep to confirm everything. I chalk this up to the fact that this company probably deals with the worst elements of society, and has to legally protect itself from frivolous lawsuits, or wrongful complaints. Over all I was pleased with my level of service.

They contacted my dad requarding a loan he took out for me 15 years ago. And i filled out forms and they said it wasnt enough, needed a different kind. They seem legit though. I emailed them, no repsond back. But they keep harrassing my phone. They said emailed can be reach as well. Well this company failed to do that. Said they only accept prepaid card, or bank account card. No money order. Form of payment is a form of payment. Alot of these debt collector always says no money. Makes no sense.

They keep calling my phone from a Washington DC number. I feel like they're using their personal phones to contact me because when they leave a message from the DC number, they tell me to call their 888 number which is their company. I'm quite annoyed and I already blocked one number the other day, now today I get a call from another number

Made Payment with Receipt. Van Ru claims they don't have payment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I paid Van Ru Credit Corp for a balance and is paid in full with receipt. I've been receiving harassing phone calls from Van Ru to where they called me on Friday January 22nd 4 Times in 75 Seconds. I called them back and they said I need to pay them the final $70 to pay off the balance owed. I told the rep that I paid the balance with a Receipt Confirmation Number 6 Months ago. I also told the rep I gave a "Supervisor" the Confirmation Number 3 Days ago only for them to not have a record of it. I requested a letter validating the amount owed of $70 and the rep denied my request. By law, I am allowed to receive a letter in writing verifying the balance owed upon request. Once if I do receive the letter, I will contact my attorney.

THEY ARE CHEATS AND DISHONEST

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I filed a Chapter 13 claim for the company from whom Van Ru claimed I owe money. They sent threatening letters saying it would affect my credit. By fling a Chapter 13, that situation already affected my credit anyway. When I looked on my schedule of debtors, the client they were trying to collect for was clearly listed on the schedule of creditors. Neither company has any grounds for their claim and I almost paid the bill until I realized I better check the schedule of creditors. Good thing I did. These threats were unfounded and fraudulent.Be wary of As We Change and Van Ru for their deceptive practices.

I just successfuly completed a chapter 13 too, and was just contacted by this group. I haven't called them back, so I don't which creditor that they're attempting to collect on, but it'should safe to assume that whoever it was was on my list of discharged creditors. Disgusting!

Attempt to collect Time-barred debt

This company sent me a letter trying to collect a time-barred debt. I replied and informed them about the statute of limitations and referred them to CFPA and they stop *** with me. Never ignore their letters and always send them a reply with a copy to a watch dog agency, government agencies. They are real *** and if you slip up, they will eat you alive and take your money. Prove them that you are smart and knowledgeable about the laws.
