Veronica Herr was born on October 2, 1755 in Millersville, Lancashire, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Samuel Herr and his wife Anna Elizabeth Hershey. She sometimes went by the name Fronica.

Veronica Herr and Jacob Kauffman were married about 1774 in Pennsylvania. The couple had the following children:

1. Samuel, born May 6, 1775 in Lancaster County
2. Gertrude, born December 13, 1778 in Lancaster County
3. Abraham, born about 1780
4. Jacob, born about 1787
5. Benjamin, born about 1793 in New Holland, PA

All of her sons took her maiden name Herr as their middle names, as per German naming conventions.

Veronica passed away on March 3, 1829 in Millersville, Pennsylvania.
