Apr 14. 2 PM start. Packed snow throughout the trail. Spikes are a must have. Didn’t use poles much. All lakes save for a small portion of Dream Lake are still walkable.
The first third was rather busy. The Lake Haiyaha portion was peaceful. Watch where your step to avoid sinking into soft snow mere foot away from the path.
Mainly packed snow, microspikes were a HUGE help! Gets very windy once you get to Dream Lake. We arrived to the Bear Lake parking lot at 12:30 on a weekday with plenty of parking spots left.
