Shawn Simmons was born and raised in a blue collar Philadelphia. Raised a generation of lost children looking for purpose and screaming for attention. The life of Simmons is pulled together by these two principals, the lost soul searching for some purpose and the mechanical nature of 9 to 5 work. Through his life, Simmons has experienced near death experiences for himself, bankruptcy, violence in his neighborhood and death of friends. Simmons has been called a poet from Generation X. The lost, the hungry, the ones searching for hope and finding it all in precarious places. Finding solace in death, drugs, lust, God and writing. He uses writing as an escape from the reality just outside the window.

Is it possible to be too deep? If it is, then this book has reached that point. Simmons really has a way with his visuals and sometimes they are too true, too much to handle. He is almost too honest about his place in the world and his opinions. Honesty, is a gift but sometimes it is disturbing. Sometimes the truth is too true.

I am 25 and i just got this book. The poet took me on a crazy ride through all kinds of feelings i have or forgot i have. I felt all the anger, hurt and genral lostness of the poet. I think this guy is an up and comer. My best way to describe it is Sylvia Plath, E.E. Cummings, an episode of Oz (HBO) then tossing in a Friends episode and Shaking it up and icing it. Simmons is no joke friends.

Question Of... is truly amazing. Simmons gives you a glimpse into the life of his own. His peices are filled with passion, hate, love, lust, frustration, and almost anything else you can imagine. He speaks about what's really happening in people's lives today, not just for his peers but also what lies ahead for today's youth, making his work very easy for people to relate too. This book has no boundaries. It's filled with the true feelings and experiences of the author.

Simmons is the kind of author we need to express our everyday feelings. His amazing style is honest and completely touches base on every aspect of what it is like to live in this society. Evil is not sugarcoated and he expresses his true feelings, which most of us are afraid to express. I definitely see much bigger and better things for him. I'll be the first to buy his books in the future.

Shawns poetry is some of the best slam Ive seen! He is an amazing poet, and ahs shown me what it takes to be a good poet! His book is great and really hits at some great topics! He speaks the truth, and doesnt care what people think of it...its just great stuff!!!

Hello! This guy is amazing. (If you didn't get that from the title). There are some short pieces in here that are packed so tight, i fear they will burst off the page. The longer ones take me on a wild trip. I especially liked Lost Generation. Remind me never to tick off a poet. Great Work, i hope to catch simmons live, i hear he puts on an amazing show!
