This is the most terrifying mortgage company to deal with. I fell behind on my mortgage during Covid, this company was so so sweet and promised that they could help. I applied for a modification, sent in all required paperwork, they dragged it out for months, continuing to state that I had not sent documentation. I started the process all over again, in February they said again that I did not have all proper documentation. When I called them, the CS rep said she was putting a request in for my documents to be reviewed, as the issue was that when my notarized documents were scanned in, the seal did not show up. I was assured that I did not need to do anything, that I would hear back from them. Well I can't get anyone who can help me on the phone, been calling weekly since the beginning of February. Now they are foreclosing on me!!!!

I cannot begin to express the incompetence and horrible service of this company - if I could leave a 1,000,000,000,000 negative stars I would. It took a year for us to realize that when SPS bought our mortgage they did not track our insurance and started taking extra money through our escrow. This came close to $10K. It took a few months for them to recognize the mistake and put the funds back in our escrow. It is now another 6 months later and we still have not received a check. It's 2024 - almost any legitimate company can wire money, and if they don't, they should be able to send checks to the right address. I've spoken to 50 agents and waited on hold for countless hours, and each person is as clueless as the next person - including every manager. Thanks for stealing my money. Seeing how many other terrible reviews are out there, I'm going to start a class action suit.

We filled out a Request for Mortgage Assistance with Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS) back in August of 2023. We received numerous requests for clarification and additional information, all of which we complied with. Then their 'underwriting' circled back and started rejecting our RMA because they wanted more information - the same information requests that we had already complied with and uploaded as requested. They dragged this process out for months, repeatedly asking for information that they already had and our calls and conversations with their customer service team never resolved the situation. Then they said our RMA information was out of date and required that we resubmit a new RMA with updated information - which we did again. They they started all over rejecting our RMA for the same reasons they used last time and we again uploaded clarification and documents that complied with their requests and should have resolved the issue.

Every time they circled back and started rejecting and requesting the same clarification and documents that were already on their system. Dozens of calls with their customer service team never resolved anything. We even requested a complete transcript of all our calls and documentation uploads and they refused, telling us our attorney would have to send a letter to their attorney to receive this information. After reviewing complaints about SPS on the better business bureau site and filing my own complaint, and now reviewing the complaints about SPS here on this site and filing this complaint, it is clear that they have a policy to do everything possible to reject any RMA requests. They never intend to grant anybody mortgage assistance, which should be fraud, potentially class action fraud.

The worst company to have a loan with. They will charge you for everything they can get away with. Watch your account for false charges. If you speak with someone there you better record your conversation. They will give you false information and everyone you talk with has something different to tell you.

SPS is the worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with, they have no empathy and do not even try to help someone when in hardship, but yet they are good to raise payments saying taxes went up. The one person I did speak to on the phone was rude, condescending and talked over me, when asked to speak to her supervisor she took forever I would say on purpose. Her supervisor was just as rude and talking over me as well. Towards the end of conversation they said they couldn't help me. I wish I could get out of this awful mortgage company. Worst experience ever.

All, please NEVER EVER use SPS as your mortgage company! SPS is a vampire, who charges my dollars to the escrow account all the time, but they don't pay my property tax on time. I checked the property tax on the local gov website and I found I was charged a hefty interest because SPS doesn't pay my tax. I called them to get the reimbursement for the penalty due to their fault, however, they said it's not their responsibility but it's my lender's. My lender transferred my info to SPS 2 months ago, but SPS said their transfer is still underway, what?! They made a mistake on my SSN, so I can't get access to the website to manage my account for 3 months. I sent my SSN copy to their only available email address, relationship.manager@spservicing.com, trust me, this email address is ghosting, and no one would reply to you at all.

I called them every other day, and each representative had a different answer to me, someone said it would take 24-48 hrs to update my SSN, and someone said it would take 30 days. But, it's been 60 days and I still can't get access to the website. Now, I have to make a call for the payment every month till they can update my SSN in their system in 2050, or afterward.

My mortgage was raised by $600+ due to shortage in escrow, yet the notice I got was for $400. Can get no answers about the $200 difference. The one person I did speak to on the phone was rude, condescending and talked over me. After sending additional detail around the $400 quoted, I got a form letter this week I was thrilled about, did not answer my question. I work for a finance company and our customers never get treated with the lack of compassion and respect this company shows. Not a happy customer.

This company seems to be not legit with lots of issues. MR. Copper sold my mortgage to them and they have calling saying they have not gotten a payment, so my bank spoke with to give them statements when they took it out my bank account, it's something with the everyday. I think everyone on here who have a problem with this company we all need to file a claim against them and start a litigation as soon as possible.

We had a great mortgage company with Mr. Cooper for two years with no issues. Well they sold to Select Portfolio. During my initial conversation with select they informed me that I had 60 days to make first payment. Well immediately they started sending me past due letters and calling non stop. We made one payment like we said. A few days later they started sending us past due again. Our loan with them went official in November, and now in January they have already hit my credit. After speaking to them last week on the phone stating I was going to pay them when my check came. Beware of this agency, terrible practice.

Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS), owes me over $11,000 due to significantly overcharging me in ‘insurance costs’ (they even stated this in writing to me - that they overcharged me by this huge amount). However, every time I call them, they keep saying the check is coming. They have been saying this since September. It is now December. You can see many other consumers have the same complaint, as well as many other complaints of fraud, with a quick Google search (eg on Yelp, BBB, etc).
