Speaking to my hero Frederick Wiseman, even by zoom, was an incredibly emotional thing because every damn second is privilege. Every breath is a privilege. Thank you @distractedbyair & 🙏🏻

This is an awesome and extremely unique opportunity for students and non-students alike. It's part of a series has organized this fall, in partnership with Ragtag, that's continuing every Wednesday through the start of November.

This month at Ragtag: Frederick Wiseman Zooms, satires skewer both starving artists and the ultra-rich, and a demonic Megan Fox swings both ways. Don't miss spooky season at Ragtag 📽️ 😱

DE HUMANI CORPORIS FABRICA (Paravel/Castaing-Taylor): Human Meat: The Movie. Fragile bodies, fragile systems. Reminds me of Brakhage’s THE ACT OF SEEING WITH ONE’S OWN EYES but way more nauseating/upsetting/thrilling. Loved it.

I'm really thrilled to be joining a center that has meant so much to me creatively, professionally and personally. It's incredibly exciting to get to work closely with such talented and smart students (and my buddy @prewarcinema) and joining a faculty I respect deeply. (1/3) twitter.com/mujschool/stat…

There's an extraordinary youtube channel made by a very young filmmaker Daniil Orain, who at risk to himself, films provocative street interviews with Russians. This, 3 weeks after the start of the war, is already a fascinating historical record of denial.

Of course this is now being repositioned as a freedom of speech & cancellation story & reduced to faux identity politics. The critique is not about who made this film, but how. It is about journalistic, documentary & representation ethics and care.

Dan, Michael, and Ed did their last screening in Wyoming last night; they've driven around the state — hitting Cheyenne, Laramie, and Sheridan.
They'll be heading home tomorrow, ideally after a meeting or two with some folks who can help Ed achieve the justice he deserves.

Great news, my Eliminating Limits to Justice for Child Sex Abuse Victims Act passed the House and is on its way to @potus' desk. This bill eliminates the statute of limitations for child survivors of sex abuse to ease burdens on filing federal civil actions.

"Under current law, minors who experience sexual abuse are able to file federal civil claims until they turn 28 years old, or until 10 years after the violation or injury is discovered. The bill Congress passed seeks to eliminate those time restraints."
