EXPERIENCE:


Award winning professional photojournalist with wide experience covering major international and national sporting events, politics, news and news feature stories for newspapers and wire services. Experienced in organizing coverage, editing and preparing captioned photographs for wire transmission to worldwide clients. Knowledgeable in all facets of photography from large and medium format cameras through 35mm to digital.  Use both Windows and Macintosh computer platforms with Photoshop to produce digital images for newspaper and magazine use. Also familiar with InDesign and major word processing programs.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

From 1971 until 1987 was a staff photographer for The Associated Press in New York, covering sports and news stories. For eleven years was one of the AP's main sports photographers, regularly covering baseball spring training camps in Florida, league playoffs and the World Series as well as the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl, college and professional basketball championships, NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, the U.S. Open tennis championships, professional golf and championship boxing.

Covered the 1980 (Moscow) and 1984 (Los Angeles) Olympics.

Assigned to photograph most of the presidential nominating conventions1972-84 and subsequent campaigns and inaugurations. Covered Lyndon Johnson’s funeral.

Was on the AP crew that covered the "Jonestown Massacre" in Guyana.


Covered part of the "Iranscam" congressional hearings for Newsday.


Since 1988 have been a full-time contract photographer for Reuters in New York. For Reuters covered the 1992 (Barcelona) , 1996 (Atlanta), and  2004 Olympics (Athens), as well as the 1994 World Cup, most NFL Super Bowls, and various baseball playoff and World Series games and the 1992 Democratic National Convention. Covered the September 11 terror attack on the World Trade Center. Photographs selected for the covers and content of two books by Reuters: September 11: A Testimony and After September 11: New York and the World.

Writer and speaker on the Arts and Crafts movement in America with articles and photographs published in Style 1900, Old House Journal, Old House Interiors, New Jersey Monthly, New Jersey Design, American Bungalow and The New York Times. Three times a speaker at the Grove Park Inn National Conference on the Arts and Crafts in Asheville, North Carolina.

Have restored and live in a National Historic Register home designed by Gustav Stickley, a turn-of-the century designer and furniture maker.
