The 2023 annual average domestic air fare of was $382. This is a decrease of 3.1% from the 2022, with an inflation-adjusted average fare of $394. The 2023 average was down 36.4% from the all-time high average of $600 in the year 2000. 2023 was also a decrease of 34.7% from the $584 average in 1995. (1995 was the first year Bureau of Transportation Statistics began compiling and reporting the average fare)
