Q:
Is there a place for family to stay while I am in the hospital?
A:
I don't think so. Though I believe they ONLY let ONE VISITOR a DAY that's 24h unless things has changed since two weeks ago. Unless you're already there you might want to look for another Hospital

My type of care was tremendous. Everyone in intake, prodecure, nurses were the greatest of the best.
I was escorted in rather quickly as I had arrived at 6:10 yesterday morning for my "procedure". Nothing was rushed, my first APN was Gay she was pleasant and suprisingly upbeat. Next was Gerald RN and as he went over the questions, asked me slowly and carefully. I guess he thought dementia lady. LOL not dementia yet but getting up there. He explained everything to me in lay term so that I can understand. Off to the hallway I went and waited for my turn. Along came the good stuff and zoom I was asleep. Didn't feel a thing. Got up in the recovery room and was told by Brandon that I had been asleep for two hours. Great I said.
Next came the juice and crackers. LOL. I really wish Queens would make small sandwiches or something better for outpatient care. Hint??
He allowed me enough time to relax and didn't rush me as my grandson was coming to pick me up at 1215.
All in all, Queens is an awesome place to be for any type of care.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Nov 9, 2019Previous reviewEveryone who works at this hospital deserves a bid hug. I can't say enough about this place. The nurses went above and beyond the call of duty to make me feel comfortable. The dietary staff, food was delicious and tasty. Just pick up your phone and place an order, your food is delivered within a 5-10 minutes of when you want it. There is also pizza that can be made for you.
The doctors were pretty good too.

One of their cheery mottos is:
"Don't Wait to Get Care."
Just try getting an appointment.
Phones ring for three minutes, then hang up.
Took a dozen phone calls just to hear I need a referral.
No alternate phone numbers, text or email addys.
No voicemail to leave a message.
PCP referrals needed for EVERYTHING.
No wonder I stay away from medicine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 30, 2023
I would like to give Queens Medical Center and staff a huge Thank You! We gave birth to our beautiful baby right before Christmas and we had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing from triage, to L&D, c-section, anesthesia, postpartum/recovery. We could not have asked for better care. This was not my first c-section and the experience we had at Queens was way better than the other hospital. The nurses and providers were professional and compassionate and they strived to keep me comfortable throughout the whole birth process. They also provided a very nice celebratory dinner for the baby which was just icing on the cake.

I visited Queen's Medical Hospital to see a friend in ICU. The care from the staff on the 5th floor Emma Wing is impressive. It takes a truly remarkable person to care for patients in the ICU. Nurse Tiffany is a rare gem.
If I needed care, this is a hospital of Care and concern. Hawaiian culture at its best!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ankle D.Las Vegas, NV03Apr 17, 2024
Good place to go if you want to die early. They almost killed me. Then, of course, they charged me tens of thousands of dollars to my insurance for cleaning up the mess they made. Unprofessional, dangerous hospital

I'm here visiting my dad on the 8th floor. They allow 2 visitors at a time in patients room. The floor has a waiting area for the family. How is the family members to sit and wait when Queens Employees are taking their break and eating their lunch in the waiting area? The whole half of the waiting area is being occupied by them eating and talking. Don't they have an employee break room?
Its so disturbing and noisy, I couldn't even think and make phone calls to reschedule my dads appointments and call family members. Their phone is going off and talking loudly of coworkers and patients. There is like 6 of them. Also it says mask to be used at all times so how can they eat there and not have their mask on? Will they wipe down the tables after having their meals?Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 2 - Sep 12, 2023
In October 2014, I had a cold and fainted when I went to brush my teeth one evening. I fell backwards and hit my head on the tile floor. I came-to about half an hour later with a crack in my skull. The next morning I could not remember the names of my parents and had to rely on muscle memory for entering my code to unlock my phone. My dad got on a plane and came to Honolulu, I was living on-campus at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa at the time, and took me to the closest full-scale medical hospital with a fully equipped emergency room - it was The Queen's Medical Center.
Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out a number of forms and then a few of the trauma nurses/doctors helped us to an emergency room area with beds for patients and a few chairs in a shared space. By the time we got to the hospital an external hematoma had formed on the outside of my scalp (pooled blood on the surface of my skin). They told me that had I made it in earlier they would have given the wound staples, however since the external hematoma had formed we went with a natural healing.
They did a scan of my head and found no foreign/undesirable fluids in my brain cavity. Currently, as of Tuesday 12 September 2023, I am still working through my long term memory loss (also called amnesia), which is worse for before I turned 17 years old. A blood test/white blood cell count revealed I had a virus, though nothing severe. All of the workers were helpful and considerate. In addition to the memory problems, I have a permanent approximately five-pronged bald spot on the back of my head corresponding to the scar of the wound. I have found writing to be helpful for the memory problems.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
