Very stressful

I do not have anything good to say about this company. I was overworked and under paid. My last boss was alright. I do think that he tried to be fair.

A interesting culture with demands on time does not promote a home life balance.

It is a unique place with one mission in mind..service your client. The challenge is there is no balance between work and home. Its all about serving the customer and the lack of depth can keep anyone from accomplishing tgat goal.

Pros

Compensation

Cons

Workload

Phi

My first Aviation Job out of A&P school in Oct. 19, 1987 (Black Monday)..I was a youngster at 21 yrs age...This was definitely a real job and eye opener to be involved in aircraft maintenance at such a young age and have my A&P.

Pros

Awesome Company

Cons

Too Young and Trusting/ Didn't know about HR back then...

Safest helicopter operation in forty years of experience

PHI believe and lives "zero accidents." They also take care of their people with good pay and benefits, but more importantly help when the employee is in extremis. When my wife was diagnosed with cancer the company sent me home to care for her and continued pay and benefits as though I was working full-time. I have never seen a company support its people like that before.

Pros

They take care of their people

Cons

Mid-level management is pretty cutthroat.

loved working here, it was a 7 and 7 rotation. Missed a lot because of the rotation just seemed things always fell on my rotation. Advancement was unlimited.

good workplace, laid back, free lunch, and very nice cowokers

typical day at work is very laid back but still has work to be done. I learned a lot about shipping and receiving helicopter parts as well as hazmat and the program that we use called RAMCO that keeps track of all our parts and all our inventory in all of our warehouses. management is very nice and clear. communication is always there. everyone here is very nice and willing to lend a hand to whoever and when ever needed. that hardest part about the job is when something is in urgent need and you get hit with all kind of task at once. which really isn't that hard at all. most enjoyable part of the job is being able to work at your own pace with out anyone breathing down your neck

Pros

free lunches

Cons

having to track apart whenever it is urgently needed

Nice Place to Work

The program is a great place to work. The team is a very cohesive group and they work well together. The company supports a strong safety culture and allows the team to take time outs for safety.

Excellent place to work with very helpful crew.

Typical day includes but not limited to installing avionic systems on Bell type helicopters. Meeting timelines while working efficiently and safe. The hardest part of the job is the 80 hr work week. Working seven 12 hour days can be exhausting. My coworkers are very inviting and helpful. From mechanics to sheetmetal everyone is willing to give a helping hand.

Pros

Bonuses, safety bonus and 7 days off every other week.

Cons

Insurance

Excellent large company to work for.

I think PHI is a great company. I've met many great people there, and I only remember good experiences with them. The opportunities there are great, as there is much room for advancement, and other jobs. Offshore, EMS, International Etc. Great Company.

Continual learning from most of the employees. Emphasis on zero incidents which is amazing.

Very positive place to work. Amazing schedule, work seven days on and seven days off. I work on the same helicopters that lots of my family take to go to their jobs offshore. I take pride in my work and my co-workers are the same way.

Pros

Only work half of the year.

Cons

Healthcare is not the best from being a independent company.

A good company overall.

A good company overall. Interesting work available overseas. However, a company culture of long time employees fearing to be fired at any moment pervades much of the experienced staff.

Pros

Work schedule

Cons

Negative work environment at some sites

Professional work standards

On Land bases Tower assignment would include local area dispatch and arrival of helicopter traffic, send and receive flight plans to and from other destinations for inbound and outbound flights. Operate a SARWS (Supplementary Aviation Weather Station) by taking hourly reports on weather conditions if needed report changes within the hour. Dispatch desk requirements were customers would sign in and weigh self and bagage for outbound flight then be assigned flight. Take customers to assigned helicopter load baggage and passengers for outbound flight. Offshore bases were the same assignments as above.Management followed FAA regulations for flight and maintenance these regulations were strictly enforced. Coworkers were fellow ComSpecs,Pilots,Mechanics and Facility workers.

Pros

7 day work week with 7 days off, if offshore free meals

Cons

away from home for 7 days
