This Dr is STRAIGHT TO THE POINT AND HILARIOUS! I'm reading all the negative comments left on this review page. People are too sensitive and lack a sense of humor now a days. I had the greatest experience with this Dr. The staff , front desk, medical assistant are very sweet, professional and very helpful. They are not your typical, "the patient is always right even though they are not" kind of people which is great and they are straight to the point which is very appreciated in my personal opinion.

I went in to see Dr. O'mera because of numbness on my hands and wrists. He examined my hands while making light of the painful situation, and immediately knew what's was wrong. He's an easy going, get straight to the point, stop beating around the bush type of Dr. All the patients with the bad reviews need to grow a sense of humor!! I totally recommend this Dr and staff!! Thank you Dr and staff for the great experience!!

THANK YOU DR. O'Meara. 26 years ago today you provided me with an excellent hip. You are an outstanding doctor and surgeon. I appreciate you more than words can express. It is because of you, your education and skill of being a terrific surgeon that I am walking. 26 YEARS!!!!! hurray!

If I actually got to see the doctor, I could maybe give a more fair review but what is it they say about first impressions? So after setting up the appointment which INCLUDED providing my insurance, the meet up was on! They obviously looked up the insurance because I was informed of my deductible, COOL! I was also informed verbally and by email of the required hard copy of my insurance card. See where all this is going?

Thinking I had everything in order, off I go to the appointment. First thing I was asked for was my insurance card, a hard copy. 'Uh, I forgot it at home. I have a digital copy (provided by my carrier on their app) on my phone. Will that work?' 'How about if I email it (also provided by my carrier) to you so you can print out a hard copy of it?' Nope, they needed/insisted on the hard copy. 'Fill out the paperwork and we'll check what we can do (without that hard copy).' I fill everything out and another receptionist tells me they can't see me without the card. So off I went, back still bothering me with zero intention of coming back despite it.

So this may not be a reflection of the service provided directly by the doctor but the customer experience leaves something to be desired. Moral of the story here is DON'T FORGET THE HARD COPY OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD.

I don't recommend this doctor. He charged $900 for doing nothing. He took so many X rays and never went over them. He never told me what is wrong with my knee or my shoulder or my back. He prescribed pain medicines and got angry when I didn't take them. It took weeks to get an appointment and by that time I wasn't in so much pain anymore. Why should I take drugs. What a waste of time and money.

You must work for him then I'm a RN and he's the most unethical ortho I've ever had the misfortune to meet. It's impossible to be on call at every hospital in Temecula. Unless of course you're in it for the money!
      You can bet on that!!!

I'd like to post a follow up that my general doctor referred me to another orthopedic doctor after this incident. It's a bit of a drive as it's down by SDSU in San Diego but worth the drive considering this doctor took me seriously and actually listened to me. He took new x-rays and explained everything to me. Where as Dr. O'Meara acted like I was wasting his time and there was nothing wrong with me (how he would know that since he didn't bother to look at my knee once is beyond me) this new doctor confirmed I have an issue with my knee and showed kindness.

O'Meara should take heed - kindness and compassion go a long way. And to the person who said they don't understand the negative feedback - maybe consider yourself lucky you didn't experience the negativity from O'Meara that many of us have. He gets negative feedback because he treated those of us who have reviewed him poorly!!

Cannot recommend. I rarely log on to Yelp solely to leave a bad review but considering the importance of medical care I felt obligated.

Met with the doctor for about 3 to 5 minutes. My visit was due to an injury I sustained to my knee. I would like to note that the doctor DID NOT even take 1 minute to look at my MRI yet was adamant about surgery. When I prodded, "exuse me but did you look at my MRI?". His reply, "no need, I read this", holding up a piece of paper. Wow, real professional doctor.

Either this guy is lazy AF, doesn't know what he is doing, or (my personal takeaway) he genuinely gives 2 flying *you know whats* about helping his patients.

      Butcher block.

I waited 1 month and visited another nearby doctor for a 2nd opinion, Dr Kaska, who spent about a hour with me and even ordered an xray on the spot. He went over my options and gave me the positives and the negatives. When my visit was complete I thanked him for taking the extra time. His head swiveled up and with an inquisitive expression mouthed, " you mean what, doing my job?" Yes. Thank you for doing your job.

Some people may have the eduction, the skilled training, all the appropriate hard earned degrees adorning their office walls, but that doesn't mean they are professional, compassionate, or willing to do the job properly.

I went to see Dr O'Meara for my moms knee pains. I found him personable and quite helpful. The first few appointments went smoothly, because they were mostly check ups . However, when my mom was in actual pain and needed to see him urgently, I was blocked at every turn. I called every day for 3 weeks to get him to see her, and I kept getting the same message from his office staff - he isn't available! Even after explaining the situation, and 3 urgent requests from her general practitioner, they still wouldn't budge and make an effort to fit her in. I'm not sure if it's a directive from the doctor or just his unfriendly staff, but on the phone, they were rude, unhelpful and not an ounce of sympathy for an elderly lady that was in pain. I should have read these reviews earlier and insisted my mom see another doctor. She wont be going there again!

The first two appointments went fine. We had a good conversation and he wanted me to wait until the second appointment to make the decision on the surgery. At this appointment we discussed what he wanted to do in the surgery (3 items being fixed).
The pre-op appointment was my 3rd appointment and let me say how drastic a change that was. I went in with questions (this was my very first ever surgery so I was very nervous). I couldn't ask many questions and the ones I did ask were seemingly dismissed. Then the end of the appointment was awful (at this point I should have called the surgery off). The nurse asks my wife to leave the room and wait in the waiting room and gave us some B.S. about their policy being the patient only can be in the room while signing and receiving the papers. Then Dr. O'Meara comes in and accuses my wife of being a drug addict. Seriously dude? Then gives me this long speech and warnings about the meds. I can break this down for you real quick. MY WIFE HAS EARLY ONSET PARKINSON'S. She has had it since she was 20 years old. But thank you for jumping to judgement and conclusions doc. Also that made her feel real good. You know, having a doc assume that.
Then surgery day, we showed up and didn't even see the doc but maybe 5 minutes. Then when I asked him about part of the surgery, he informs me that he wasn't going to be working on that because well not important right now. Really? Then when I woke up, I was informed that he had left. Gone home. Didn't even bother to stay and fill me in on the surgery or after care etc. Also right after I woke up I was informed that they used a replacement part from a donor instead of reconstructing my own. This was not in previous conversations and was never told that a donor part could be used. That was all the information that I was given in recovery then was discharged and sent home with extremely little after care instructions or knowledge of how the surgery went.
A couple days later I noticed something not right and went to the hospital. The E.R. doc was worried about a couple things until he talked to Dr. O'Meara then all of a sudden nothing is wrong but need to call him in the morning and get seen. The next day I tried and was told to just wait and that nothing was wrong.
After a failed attempt at going in to be seen by him, that weekend as a vet I went to the VA to see if they could offer any assistance. Unfortunately (due to policy) their orthopedist was unable to see me and help because they were not the original surgeons.
Needless to say never NEVER EVER will I be going back to him. Today is day 11 and still in a MASSIVE amount of pain but oh well I guess.

don't waste your time & money on this guy! very unprofessional! He doesn't even deserve 1 star, he deserves -5 stars.

I came here to give it a try and thought maybe these reviews would prove them wrong...well, turns out everything's TRUE! Money hungry & does not care about you if you're dealing with workers comp injury. I have a lower back pain with MRI results with L5 L6 herniated disc & stenosis, my chiropractor and previous Doctor had told me it's a serious injury. This guy literally said my injury is "nothing" and my chiropractor is "full of bulls**t" it's really unprofessional and let alone, how the hell would he know how my body feels?! I feel like he's racist against minorities & doesn't favor or listen to what you have to say. Don't waste your time on this guy. Unhelpful and useless.
