  • ANNUITANT CONTACT INFORMATION VERFICATION
The Fund will be distributing a second mailing of the address and phone number verification form (Jurat) letters to annuitants who have not responded to the first notice. This is a bi-annual audit requirement to establish that the Fund has accurate contact information for each annuitant. The form letter requires the annuitant to verify their address and phone number detail by executing the form with a public Notary. The Union and Fund Offices are available to notarize these forms; all authorized notaries are approved by the Fund for the certification of this Form. The executed form letter - unique to each annuitant - needs to be physically returned to the Fund Office at 20 S. Clark, Suite 300 by November 17, 2023; faxed or emailed forms will not be accepted. Failure to respond to this request may result in the suspension of benefits.

  • NEW LEGISLATION UPDATE!

On Friday Governor Pritzker took action by signing Senate Bill 1629 and creating Public Act 103-0579. The new Act impacts all Tier II members by lowering the number of months required to determine final average salary (the greater of) for annuity purposes from 96 consecutive months of service within the last 120 months, to 48 consecutive months of service within the last 60 months. The bill becomes effective immediately.

The Board will be working with Staff and legal counsel to determine the process utilized by the Fund to implement this new legislation. It is anticipated that details regarding the Act’s implementation will be discussed at the July Retirement Board Meeting.
