Pauline Ellen {Embrey} Corn-Patterson passed away Easter Sunday.

Mrs. Patterson was born, along with her twin brother Paul, to Martha Bixler & Roy Lee Embrey.

She received her elementary education at Independence, a country school southwest of Fairview. Her freshman year she transferred to Fairview High School, where she graduated in 1941. On Christmas Eve that same year, Pauline married her high school sweetheart, James Leslie Corn. In 1952 they purchased a home & moved their family of 2 children, Karen and Fred, to Wheaton. Leslie preceded her in death. Until November of last year, when she sold her home & moved to Cassville, Pauline had resided all but 6 of the last 58 years in Wheaton.

Pauline worked as a cook for Wheaton School for several years. She continued to cook, taking food to shut-ins & church activities for many years. She loved her flowers, bird watching plus visiting on the phone. For many years she did all kind of arts & crafts, making 19 afghans which she gave away to relatives & friends.

On New Years Day, 1970, she was united in marriage to Reverend Stanton W 'Pat' Patterson. She worked alongside Brother Pat in many Southern Baptist Churches in Barry County. He also preceded her in death. Others preceding her in death were: son Fred, her parents, sisblings: Lorene Lahman, Paul, Minferd, Alferd, Herman & Clarence.

Pauline accepted Christ as her Savior when 17 & was His faithful servant. She was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, loving to attend services as long as she was physically able.

Granny K is survived by daughter Karen Holder w/husband Joe of Cassville; sister Mildred Stanley of Monett; daughter-in-law Karen Corn of Monett; step-children: Sherry Boyce of Marshfield & Rick Patterson of Granby; grandsons Brad & Jeff Holder; 5 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren; many "special" nieces & nephews; her church family plus other relatives & friends.
