7 7 ORDER TRANSFERRING CASE TO OTHER DISTRICT: Case transferred to Southern District of New York.. This matter comes before the Court on the Courts order to show cause (Doc. 6) why the Court should not transfer this case to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1404(a) in light of the fact that the case appears to have no connection with the Southern District of Illinois. The plaintiff has not responded to the order. For the reasons stated in the order to show cause, the Court finds a transfer is appropriate under 28 U.S.C. 1404(a) and, accordingly, ORDERS that this case be transferred pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1404(a) to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York for further proceedings. Signed by Judge J. Phil Gilbert on 2/21/14. (tlp)THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED. [Transferred from Illinois Southern on 2/26/2014.]

6 6 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. This matter comes before the Court for case management purposes. The Court notes that the plaintiff is a citizen and resident of New York. None of the defendants is a citizen of Illinois, and there is no allegation as to the place of the injury. There is no indication that this case has any connection to the Southern District of Illinois other than the fact that the defendants do business in Illinois, and there is no indication that the plaintiffs alleged injuries had anything to do with the defendants doing business in Illinois. This leads the Court to doubt whether this case belongs in the Southern District of Illinois. For this reason, the Court ORDERS the plaintiff to SHOW CAUSE within seven days why the Court should not transfer this case to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1404(a).Signed by Judge J. Phil Gilbert on 2/13/14. (tlp)THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED. [Transferred from Illinois Southern on 2/26/2014.]
