The event, which began in 2003, has grown each year thanks in part to the sponsorship of J.P. Morgan Chase which has been its underwriter since 2008. The entertainment was courtesy of MECA’s Mariachi and Ballet Folklorico groups.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year because today we celebrate our rich heritage and cultural diversity,” Garcia said. “Harris County benefits when residents of all national backgrounds are celebrated and embraced,” she added.
