An Introduction To Nirvana, includes the new track "You Know You're Right." Nirvana is a "best-of" compilation album by the American grunge band Nirvana, released in October 2002. Nirvana was released following the settlement of a long-standing legal dispute between Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, and surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. Much of the dispute centered around the song "You Know You're Right" which was recorded during the band's final studio session, in January 1994. Novoselic and Grohl had wanted to release it on a long-delayed Nirvana rarities box set. However, Love blocked the song's release, and sued Novoselic and Grohl over control of Nirvana's legacy. Love's lawsuit maintained that "You Know You're Right" was a "potential 'hit' of extraordinary artistic and commercial value." She believed that "You Know You're Right" would be "wasted" on a box set, and instead belonged on a single-disc compilation similar to The Beatles' 1. In September 2002, it was announced by the Nirvana camp that the lawsuit had been settled, and that "You Know You're Right" would be released on "Nirvana, a one-CD history of the band."

Essentially a greatest-hits collection with one previously unreleased song, "You Know You're Right," and producer Scott Litt's 1994 remix of "Pennyroyal Tea," Nirvana the album is nevertheless a welcome addition to the band's canon. Crisp, elegant liner notes by Rolling Stone writer David Fricke put us squarely in Kurt Cobain's mindset as he entered a Seattle studio in January 1994--a full two days later than expected--to record what would be his final session with Nirvana. The resulting "You Know You're Right" locates Cobain at the apogee of his disenfranchisement with tongue nevertheless planted firmly in cheek. Bawdy, raucous, and venomous, "You Know You're Right" could have been lifted from Nevermind. A mix of tracks from that album ("Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Come as You Are," "Lithium," and "In Bloom") sits opposite stuff from early EPs and the Bleach disc ("About a Girl," "Been a Son," and "Sliver"), plus two from the MTV Unplugged sessions and several more from In Utero. I first listened to Nirvana in high school as an individual who also suffered from depression. Kurt Cobain’s voice spoke to me in such a way that his music reached the dark blackhole of my worthless soul. The day I heard Negative Creep for the first time was the day I decided to own every album by Nirvana. This is the last cd needed to complete my collection, the playlist goes from Unrelased Track, Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero and to finally MTV Unplugged. In the acoustic version of All Apologies, you can actually hear the pain in Kurt’s voice as he sings the lyrics without the electric feedback.Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium are my favorite tracks off this cd. However I believe that 3 tracks are missing that would have made this album perfect. They are listed below:1) Negative Creep2) Scentless Apprentice3) All Apologies (Electric Version)I guess somebody at Geffen Records messed up. Was wondering what blu-ray audio was like compared to the CD. Well wasn’t disappointed. I have the Nirvana CD so it was easy to compare the sound difference. A richer fuller sound is what I expected and that is exactly what I got. Only disappointment was the CD did have an extra track.. where did you sleep last night. But other than that a great buy at a reasonable price
