Company finds any little thing to deny paying you. Do not recommend them. Wasn't explained at the beginning that you needed it for 2 years before they will pay out the policy. Ridiculous really. They will scam you anyway they can.

Do not purchase a policy with this company. I have been a customer for over 14 yrs. I purchased a policy to protect myself if unable to work due to complications of pregnancy. I am an OB nurse and see firsthand what can happen during pregnancy and wanted to protect myself if unable to work. Well, lo and behold I did encounter complications that restricted my ability to work bedside at my hospital. When it came time to use the policy, I was treated like a criminal. Had me in tears every time I had to deal with this company.

I kept the policy paying 89.00/month and 14 yrs later I needed to use my disability insurance. Again, treated like I didn't matter at all. Never received timely updates, poor communication, would get the Dr.'s names wrong, requested to speak to managers. Never a call back. Finally got a hold of one, not much help. Really mess with your mentally. Then of course denied my claim, stating not enough evidence. I was in such a bad place and their "Dr" denied my claim. Now I feel even worse. If I can save one person from having to have to go through what I did, it would be worth it. Absolutely awful company. I will be retaining a lawyer to fight the appeal. Save yourself the heartache I have had to endure, stay far far away from this company.

If I could give this company a NEGATIVE star I would. I applied through a person that finds the best bang for your buck, I was asked many questions..I answered them all medications I was on. I provided the ONLY TWO I was on. I was immediately declined because 2023 I was give ** for WEIGHTLOSS, not diabetes. AGAIN NOT DIABETES. Never have had diabetes and also so was given ** for carpal tunnel and then switched to ** for the carpal tunnel…Well just because they think these medications are only for ONE reason to which my DOCTORS told them is incorrect and sent all documents to support what I told them and I also went two days later to get all my bloodwork redone to still deny me..

I was told to send why I was on those two meds at different times one was actually almost two years ago and the ** I went off of in January this year… Then was told ** is not prescribed for weight loss at the time it was have that documented also from the doc along with labs to prove NEVER DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES.. And also I have not been on any of these medications in 3 months to 2 years but being denied… This company it senna to be a bunch doctors that aren’t doctors.., They need to find a better way of getting information and supporting their theories of a person

DO NOT buy insurance from this company. They will not pay out on the policies you buy. I purchased a cancer policy for $10,000 and when my husband got cancer, they refused to pay the policy. The doctor provided all his records and we had to appeal and then they refused the doctors records. They are a rip off, they steal your money and refuse to pay.

Omaha farms out this insurance to another company that will spend months finding reasons to deny your claim until frustration make you go away.... Had the same dentist for years and never a problem filing claims with previous insurer, now they don't recognize this dentist, they need his NPI number, they need his tax number, they need his address, they need his phone number, they need the dentist to call them....on and on....one after another. Dentist filed claim three times for me and his office is frustrated too.

I just learned of a policy my dad had (he passed in November of 2023) for critical illness. I called today to report his death and learned that the medical records and death certificate are not enough proof for them to pay out the coverage despite his qualifying diagnosis being on/in both of those things, they expect his hospitalist physician who treated him to complete a third form validating the diagnosis. The amount of work required when living out of state is not worth the headache unless this is the only asset someone has.

I suggest finding a more reputable company that will accept the other VALID documents that the same physician they want to complete their form, has provided in the hospital medical records and to the state medical examiner on the death certificate as they require both of those items as well. It speaks volumes to me as a hospital CEO of the barriers that they intentionally create in an effort to earn money of premiums without having to pay benefits as they are well aware that it's nearly impossible to track down a treating physician whom doesn't operate a private practice to complete their ridiculous, repetitive forms.

I had a 20 year TERM policy with the company and authorized electronic payment of $80.10 a month for that policy. Paid every month for 20 years. The term policy ended in October 2023. Without any authorization from me Mutual of Omaha decided it had authority to extend my 20 year term policy and remove $629.23 on 11/6/23, $629.23 on 12/4/23 and $629.23 on 1/4/24 from my bank account. We were out of town and had not realized these charges. We had to close our bank account to stop the charges.

We called and they claim they have the right to charge my account a new premium and extend my term policy BOTH WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. If I did not authorize them to remove this money from my account it is THEFT. They are saying they will not refund all my money. It has been over 30 days and no refund. I have also requested a copy of my policy which they say will be sent in 10 days. Beware doing electronic banking!!!! Customer Service does not do what they promise either.

I never imagined in 1,000 years that I would be writing a rave review about an insurance company - but here I am!! We have had two small policies for my mother since 2009 - one with Mutual of Omaha, and one with another large insurance company. Unfortunately, my mother recently passed and as the beneficiary, I can share first hand that the difference in service + claims processing between the two companies is literally night and day.

Mutual of Omaha in my eyes, is the gold standard!! I am beyond impressed! They have provided excellent service in each and every department along the chain. They processed swiftly and to my pleasant surprise, they sent the check within days after notifying them of my mother’s death. The competitor will not likely send a check for another 4-6 weeks. That’s after snail mailing documents, they won‘t even start the process until things are received, and it takes time to even receive these official documents on our end.

The fact that Mutual of Omaha moved so fast, it now allows our family to have the liquid funds to pay for services, our travel, rental cars and other essentials needed for these end of life family arrangements. It’s already a tough time to lose a loved one. Having the funds to take care of the services is the biggest blessing!! We are so grateful to this company, and their business model that shows more humanity than most. My family and I HIGHLY recommend Mutual of Omaha for life insurance! Thank you!!

Your Dedicated Service Team has offered very little support in how to complete ParaMed physicals or obtaining medical records. There are numerous numbers given with no real guidance on who you actually need to connect with. When you do call one of the numbers, either no one answers, or no one returns your voicemail. This is supplemental life insurance that is supposed to provide peace of mind, but it has only caused headaches. Lack of service or ability to see shortcomings is very disappointing. Would never recommend this company or their customer support to anyone. Look anywhere else for life insurance.

The last couple of years of my mom's life I took care of her finances per her request. After sorting out the mess I discovered she had no life insurance. I immediately contacted Mutual of Omaha. Unfortunately she passed 16 months later at 77 yrs. of age of a heart attack. That was the first of August it is now December. Because the insurance policy was not 24 months old there had to be an "investigation". They have contacted every medical provider she had for the past 3 yrs. Still no payout. It is a small amount but it would pay the funeral home I did the right thing, now here I sit and worry that I can't pay the wonderful people who took such care with my mom in our family's time of need.

Customer care phone conversations get me NOwhere. Every time I call I am told they are still investigating. Then within a week I get a letter which is basically a synopsis of the phone call. How do you sleep, giving individuals such a hard time when they are already grieving?
