Mitchell Bayes, 69, died Saturday, June 10, in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bayes was born July 29, 1919 in Johnson County, the son of Everett Blanton and Alice Bayes. He was a retired carpenter and had been a Christian for 21 years. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Hamilton Bayes; four sons, Jim of Nippa, Mike of Dayton, OH, Allen of Huntsville, TX, and Herold of Paintsville, four half brothers, Everett Blanton, Jr. of Paintsville, James Blanton of Staffordsville, James Lemaster of New Carlisle, OH, and Robert Blanton of Peebles, OH; one stepbrother, Paul Tackett; and two stepsisters, Betty Hampton and Maxie Lemaster, both of Dayton. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, in Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Tommy Bailey, Ellis Hamilton, Allen Bayes and Jim Bayes officiating. Burial was in Hamilton Cemetery at Keaton.
