1945-1946 Caramelo Deportivo Cuban League

The 1945-1946 Caramelo Deportivo (Sporting Caramels) Cuban League baseball set is one of the most sought after Cuban releases spanning the 1945-46 Cuban winter ball season. Referred to as the “Deportivo” of “Felices” set, these cards are printed on thin paper stock and measure 1-7/8” by 2-5/8” featuring black-and-white player portraits with the card number printed in a small circle at the bottom. The sometimes-blurry images are surrounded by a thin black border and creamy outer perimeter. The backs display the player’s name, card number and brief player and career details. Current and former Major League players can be found within this 100-card set and are often the only cards issued for said player. Highlights include Ray Dandridge (#25), Orestes Minoso (#27), Raymond Brown (#30), Adolfo Luque (#55), Salvatore Maglie (#64), Martin Dihigo (#65), Luis Tiant Sr. (#66) and Ramon Bragana (#93).
