Menards - Owensboro

Avoid Menards Owensboro Store and any dealings with Dale Hendricks (store Manager). There is 0% customer support or concern for the customer at this store. I was in the store and the sink I needed was not in stock. While in the store I placed an order online for the sink, but less than 2 hours later found the sink at another store. I called the store manager and cancelled my order, but the manager failed to actually cancel the order. The sink shipped and I was charged a 25% restock fee. I was told by Dale that I should have called the store, and then emailed the manager after the call to cancel to ensure that they had done their job. I was then told that because I failed to call, email, and get her contact information that he didn't believe that I had cancelled the order. He stated that all customers say that they cancel things and actually are not honest about it. How is that for customer service. I can tell you that I will be spending my money at Lowes and Home Depot in the future.

Today I walked in the store to purchase a home security camera, I walk in and before I've even made my way to the isle there were several workers watching/following me. They called security on me for no apparent reason and security, as well as a group of workers, followed me to the checkout and watched as I paid for my item and left. I feel like I might be the first white person to get racially profiled. Terrible service, extremely unnecessary. If I could vote less than one star I would.

I had recently bought a basic White-Wire Shelving piece & it was like 3Inches too long. So I go to MENARDS
& the first two people working there are like well we don't cut this type of thing
Give me a break, it's a wildly simple task. So I get pushed to this self-saw option I go there & the guy looks at it like I am asking him to figure out & explain to me the Spacetime Continuum... Then says see if Hardware can help, so I go there & find Zach who was freaking killer... "He's like that's it?"; Yeah we will fix ya up. He treats the problem as it should be treated... Its a devastatingly easy request, walks us over to bolt-cutters & :15 seconds later DONE...
Whatever your paying Zach it isn't enough, killer job & made a simple task a simple fix...

The worse customer service, I'm not sure why they have employees anywhere other than the registers. They don't want to help you and if you happen to track one of them down they can't help you and they are mad you talked to them. Not just today the last few times we were in here the service was like that.

They have one of everything but not two of anything I needed , you can't find anyone that knows where everything is so lots of wondering around.
The selection of Lumber was awful, not a straight board in the bunch
My overall experience was not good but if you're retired with nothing to do then it's a great place to waste time

Menards has EVERYTHING!! It's been a few years since I've moved from Owensboro, but whenever I'm in visiting my parents, we sometimes end up at Menards. It's hard to describe what Menards is. I would say it's a cross between a Lowes & Walmart. They've got the outdoor, lawn & garden stuff, but they also sell home stuff.

You can buy laundry detergent, brick pavers & shutter nails. They've got it all. I'm not sure what they don't have. You can get your outside space designed at their design center. They've also got there you get a certain amount pack on a rebate. The last time we were there we got an 11 percent back on a rebate. You stop but the customer service center & get the forms to get the rebate. You are able to spend the rebate on future purchase at Menards.

We stopped in a on a Saturday morning & were able to use the automated propane tank dispenser to change out empty tanks & get new ones. They system is available 24/7 it said. We also went inside to look for folding chairs my parents needed & found an associate by the name of John who was very helpful. He helped us find the folding lawn chair section and also the shutter nails that we needed.

If you've got an hour to kill, this place is a great place to look around at all the stuff they sell & stuff you'll need once you know it's available.

Ignore paid reviews for this store, and look online where this store is horrible with customer service and policies.

They force In Store Gift Cards on you even when you paid with a combination of Cash / In Store credit during the original purchase.

I purchased approximately $137 worth of items from them prior to Christmas. I received one of the items as a Christmas gift, the next day, so I thought I'd return the item I had purchased myself to get my cash back. It was valued at $109.

When I returned the item they forced the entirety of the $47 Gift Card BACK on me prior to receiving the difference in Cash. In other words .... they kept my money and forced me to re-use the original $47 in store credit on other items.

I originally paid $90 in cash and the difference was the $47 Gift Card for the item and a few other small items I had purchased. Upon returning the $109 item ... they forced the $47 gift card BACK on me, and only gave me $62 back in cash!

See my argument and problem with this?

This is a shady business practice. I WILL NOT do business with them again!

Menards has a little bit of everything. So it sometimes can be a one stop shop depending on what we are looking for. We do love their grocery selection and their prices are competitive on somethings. Friendly staff and overall great selection and good prices.

The worst service ever. I had to walk to construction 3 times
to get concrete. Im 72, can't pick it up...so I was trying to
find help loading it. They were very rude, didn't ever say
one nice thing, then cashier was same way...only good
event was the loader, very nice friendly young man.
Man this store needs some serious customer service
training. I'll go to Home Depot when I can but Menards
has more products...fortunately the Evansville store is
much much better.

Horrible customer service. Had to walk literally miles around the store to find materials for the simplest project
