Mary Lois Mims age 84 died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus MS. Services will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2nd Ave North with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery Columbus. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Mims was born on Monday, September 04, 1933 in Lexington, MS to the late Henry D. and Mattie Daves Grantham. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and retired from United Technologies after 37 years. She enjoyed singing and traveling with the Fairview 55+ group. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Babe Ruth Mims, her siblings, Marvin Grantham, William Floyd Grantham, Bishop Grantham, Joy B. Grantham, Roy L. Grantham, Gladys Grantham Ginn, and Vivian Grantham Odom. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Thompson (Alan), Columbus, MS, and Mary Lesia Lamb (Mike), Belden, MS; son, Larry Mims (Carla Doreen), Columbus, MS; sister, Reecy White (Wayne), Kosciusko, MS; grandchildren. Blair Curtis, Bo Ferguson, Drew Lamb, and Morgan Lamb; great-grandchildren, Mary Bishop Curtis, Livingston Curtis, Hewitt Curtis, Tyson Anglin, and Hayden Lamb. The pallbearers will be Mike Lamb, Alan Thompson, Bo Ferguson, Glenn Crawford, Ben Curtis, and Ralph Billingsley. The honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Trinity Healthcare, Dr. Brett Brown, Dr. Patrick Chaney, Jewell Woodward Esther Sunday School Class and friends of Fairview Baptist Church.
