For some, psychotherapy is an opportunity to learn new skills. For others it is a quest into the shadow of one's self--a plunge into the unknown. I believe that psychotherapy is a sacred space and always feel honored to be present when a client experiences healing. Each individual has a different set of needs and issues. No one approach or technique will resonate with everyone. As a result, each individual's psychotherapeutic experience is tailored to his or her needs.
I am most comfortable with a client centered approach in which the client is the expert on his or her own life experience. I use behavior and cognitive behavioral techniques to aid each client in forward progress toward individual goals.
Most of my work has been with individuals and couples. I have experience with adolescent/family issues, addiction and recovery, divorce recovery, depression, and coping with life changes.
