I stopped in here for a happy hour after work on a Tuesday and was happy to see a pretty large parking lot. Their happy hour menu had $1 off all drinks and then $3 and $4 bites. Their beer cheese pretzel was particularly good...and you got two big pieces. The bar tender was friendly and quick to check on is and see if we wanted anything else. Overall a solid happy hour spot.More

A two-part review First time here was for dinner with a family group of 10, which I was told by a local family member was large for the venue which typically sees couples and small families. The staff took it in stride, though! Food and...service was great and on point, even for the busy night it was. I enjoyed the abundance of medium-tone wood, soft lighting, and exposed brickwork for a very cozy feel. Second time here, just a few months later, was just me and my fiance for a weeknight dinner. We were on the slightly early side of dinner, maybe 5:30pm arrival, and we were seated in the very cool sun room. Again, I loved the atmosphere and design of the space, and the food was good. Unfortunately, while the service started great, it took a steep decline when 6:00pm and later came with more customers. I'm fairly certain that another member of the waitstaff picked up from the kitchen what was supposed to be our chicken wing appetizer order, because it took an awfully long time to arrive despite the number of diners. I'm also fairly certain my dessert order was dropped, because it took a piece of cake longer to arrive than chicken wings...and in fact it didn't even arrive, because the last piece went to someone else. The waiter was hardly apologetic. I wish I knew a trick on how to gauge when to eat here, because I love everything. I just don't want an evening ruined by poor service.More

Across two evenings, nine dinners were served. Attentive service, good portions, wide variety of beers including Connecticut ones, very tasty food that is better than you'd expect in terms of both what is offered and how it tastes. As for apps, the big pretzel is...a treat (buttery!) with two types of dipping sauce, and the Reuben kegs are a tasty, inventive treat. Folks had the Reuben, a burger, Steak sandwich au jus, fish and chips and the winter salad with salmon added. Great place for a casual night out.More

Went here first time for dinner on Friday night. What a disappointment, someone needs to explain spices to the chef. My fish and chips was bland, with lots of grease. It was served on a tray with brown paper that was grease saturated. Pasta primavera...my wife had was also very bland and lacking flavor. Her “red sangria” tasted like red wine and seltzer.....terrible. Definetly will not return.More

I The first time I dined at The Main Pub, it was a slightly smaller facility. The food was good enough, and I would have rated it three stars. Ten years passed and I saw it on my route and decided to stop by and see...how it was. The facility was on the same location, but the site had been enlarged and redecorated. There was a nice big patio with a bonfire on cool nights. The interior was beautiful, the staff was capable and friendly. And the food was truly excellent. They serve pub fare, but with interesting variations and with excellent ingredients. If you dine there, be sure to order the chocolate torte. They also have a poached pear, walnut and blue cheese salad. The meats are very good. They have variety, but with a core of well-cooked, dependable dishes. This is my favorite restaurant in Manchester.More

I held a mini-class reunion on a Sunday at lunchtime and the venue turned out to be ideal for a gathering of 30 people. The waitress was very efficient in delivering the drinks and the food and we were able to interact with plenty of...room. I was invited back for dinner by a friend and the BLT sandwich was very tasty (I might have done without the fried egg but I understand how the chef might be looking for originality). Prices are reasonable.More

A nice comfortably warm afternoon lent to a late lunch that included Mom's Chili, Sweet Potato Fries......preceded by two "Girls Just Wanna Have Rum" cocktails. Great food including prompt service on the patio. I will be a regular from this day forward.

A would call it a hidden gem. Obviously 5 Stars does not mean a Michelin dinning experience, of which we have been fortunate to have quite a few over the years. But it does mean for a local venue it is terrific. Great atmosphere, friendly...and caring staff and service, well made mixed drinks, an excellent beer list, and the food is very good. The Rueben Kegs Appetizers are truly one of a kind and should be tried. Highly recommend for and enjoyable experience.More

Have been here a few times over the past year. It is a solid restaurant with bar and happy hour. Always good food, service and pricing. Friendly atmosphere and outdoor dining in warm weather. Recommend you come, if haven't tried the Main Pub.

Have been wanting to stop in for a while. Today was the day. Wife and I split the smokehouse burger. Kids had pasta which worked for them! Burger was amazing, fries unique shape and tasty. Didn’t do beer today, but I’ll be back! Prices a...bit Glastonbury-ish, but we’ll worth it! This place will be in our regular rotation!More

I like this place. Especially like the generous patio. Staff always pleasant. Standard pub fair, and I've not been disappointed by any meal. Live entertainment, when they have it, is an added treat. We've gone there for lunch and dinner.

I've been there now several times with my wife and adult kids, for their "trivia night" on Thursdays. (I'm a boomer and can't answer most of these, but it's great fun and I learn. Plus, the lady on stage - Brooke? - is nice, hope...she stays.) Anyway, I've now had the smokehouse burger, the Reuben and the French dip, and all were near the best I've had. Get the Mac 'n' Cheese side.More

My daughters-in-law went Friday night for a drink. One is Hispanic and one is Asian. They sat at the bar and were ignored. After an hour and one half, they had one drink and no food service. They left unhappy. Maybe they should have brought...a white family member.More

I have reviewed The Main Pub before but now this is our first dinner out since the Pandemic of 2020 started. Staff were very gracious and instructive on how things would work to maintain social distancing to and from our table. A hands-free limited menu...could be found using the camera on our cellphone to photo the square QR codes in placards on our table. Wine and beer arrived promptly and our food - salads, moist pulled pork, 1/2 tender chicken and a medium-rare burger were delicious - as always at this restaurant. Dessert - of course on this beautiful summer night out - two strawberry shortcakes (biscuits a bit dry) with ice cream shared by each couple. We wish them well during this time of many unknowns and kudos on their use of technology! We will return.More
